FYI - The Friday Backpack food program will return once school resumes. If you are not on the list, and would like to be considered, please contact your Principal directly.
Also, FYI, CAS was directed to not use our schools as a warming station by the EOC due to the lack of a backup generator and the number of other warming stations available in our area.

Following this morning's meeting with the county Emergency Services Team, it was recommended to extend the closure of CAS through Wednesday, April 9th. We will reconvene early next week to reassess the situation and provide further updates. We are deeply grateful to everyone who is working tirelessly to support those in need. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Please find attached the press release from the County Emergency Team, for your review. Power, heat, and internet services have been restored to all buildings. We will be holding an Emergency Cabinet Meeting tomorrow, Friday, at 10:00am . We will continue to monitor developments closely this afternoon, tomorrow, and over the weekend, and in conjunction with the County Emergency Team and the COPESD office. Please stay safe and warm!


After our County Emergency Services meeting this morning, it was determined to cancel school for the remainder of this week. We hope to resume school on Monday, April 7th. Stay Warm, Stay Safe!


Due to continued power outages, storm cleanup, and icy road conditions, Cheboygan Area Schools will be closed again tomorrow, Tuesday, April 1st.
It has been reported that Power Lines on Loomis, near the MS/HS, are down. It has been recommended and advised to avoid that area today.
If you are experiencing a power outage and need to find a community warming station with a backup generator, please visit one of the following locations:
*Alverno Fire Department, 5009 Orchard Beach Road, Cheboygan
*Waverly Township Hall, 1113 Twin School Road, Onaway
*Wolverine Fire Department, 12958 Afton Road, Wolverine
*Church of the Straits, 307 N Huron Avenue, Mackinaw City

Due to severe weather conditions, Cheboygan Area Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, March 31st. Cheboygan Emergency Services is also advising residents to avoid driving today, unless absolutely necessary, for safety reasons.
