
Due to air quality and safety concerns, school has been canceled for all East Elementary students on Tuesday, February 18. A full inspection will take place on Tuesday morning to ensure all necessary safety steps are taken. Please note that this cancellation only affects East Elementary. All other district schools will operate as usual. As investigation continues, more information and facts will be released tomorrow afternoon.

There will be a Title VI meeting tonight at 6:00 PM in the CIS/CMS library. Title VI is a federal grant that supports Native American students by funding academic support and culturally responsive activities. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Yesterday Cheboygan Area Schools hosted a district wide safety PD. Local law enforcement and EMS were on hand to support this event. All staff participated in this training and learned a great deal about school safety.

A group of Art students attended the Northern Shores Conference Art day in Grayling. It was an amazing opportunity provided by Mr. McNeil to acknowledge art in neighboring comnunities.





A big thank you to our "Safety" speakers this afternoon at our Faculty and Staff Safety Training; Sheriff Ross, SRO Fenlon, Lt White and all the first responders that lead us through our practice scenarios. It was a great learning day for us all! Go Chiefs!








Mr. Wright's 8th grade Social Studies class did a walkthrough reenactment of Lewis and Clark's Corps of Discovery. What a great real life lesson that even included provisions along the way!








Great night for BBB as we host Elk Rapids this evening. We are entering the 4th quarter and the it has been back forth all night long, Go Chiefs, finish Strong!

Our culinary students made complimentary meals to go alongside MREs, with guest judge SSG Anderson yesterday. They competed each hour for the top entree and dessert. Each winning group had their choice of prizes from the National Guard. So much fun!
