Book Study Sign Up!

We are excited to announce that we’ve received copies of The Unfinished Teacher for our upcoming book study! If you’re interested in participating, please reach out to Leanne at millimanl@chebschools.com.

We have 10 signed up so now I am getting greedy!  Let’s see if we can our study up to 15 participants!  Once we accomplish this goal we will begin the study.  Reminder, there is a stipend to compensate you for the work and reading expected to occur outside the workday and/or on the weekends.

The book, The Unfinished Teacher, is co-authored by PJ Caposey, who will also be joining us as our guest speaker during the March 5th professional development afternoon. This is a fantastic opportunity to create synergy between the insights from the book study and our upcoming PD session.

Quote for the Week: “Safety and security don’t just happen: they are the result of collective consensus and public investment.  We owe our children, the most vulnerable citizens in our society, a life free of violence and fear.” – Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela is best known for his role in ending apartheid in South Africa and becoming the country’s first Black president. He was a key leader in the anti-apartheid movement, serving as the head of the African National Congress (ANC) and advocating for racial equality and justice.

Mandela spent 27 years in prison for his resistance to the apartheid regime. After his release in 1990, he played a crucial role in negotiating the peaceful transition from apartheid to a democratic South Africa. In 1994, he was elected as South Africa’s first Black president, serving until 1999.

He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 for his efforts in dismantling apartheid and promoting reconciliation. Mandela is remembered as a global symbol of peace, justice, and resilience.
