Construction at East Elementary continues to move forward, both above and below the roof. A major milestone was reached this week with the completion of the structural steel erection for the building. To celebrate, an American flag and Christmas tree were placed on the high roof!
Other progress this week included completion of the roof decking, installation of the mechanical sleeves and louvers on the north wing, completion of the steel supports for the rooftop units and roof drains, and preparation of the concrete slab. The parking lot pad base course has also been completed, with materials arriving this week for the next stages of construction.
Looking ahead, the concrete slab is scheduled to be poured Wednesday, October 7. Following the pour, framing of the perimeter walls will begin, along with additional roof work and the installation of overhead mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Brick masonry is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
This is a huge milestone for the project, and we are excited to see the building continue to take shape. We appreciate everyone's patience and support as this important project moves forward!
